Tom Hanks’ Son Chet Admits to Cocaine Use, Rehab

Chet Hanks

After a lot of speculation in the media about where Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson‘s son Chet may have disappeared, Chet Hanks decided to clear up the matter himself by releasing a series of videos on Instagram detailing his drug problems and revealing that he has been in rehab all this time.

This is not the first time Chet Hanks has revealed drug problems. He has been open and frank about using drugs since he was 16, though last November he had publicly declared 60 days of sobriety after getting help for cocaine abuse.

In Chet’s Instagram video on Wednesday night, he stated “I just want to let you all know, I’ve been in rehab … and I’m doing pretty damn good.”

He further opened up about the reasons behind his drug abuse, as he said that it’s been a long journey for me discovering who I am because of all the pressures that he’s “dealt with in [his] life, you know, being the son of [his] dad and everything, and just trying to find where [he fits] in.”

In addition to problems coping with a life in the spotlight and famous parents, Chet’s mother Rita Wilson recently went through a long battle with breast cancer, which she thankfully beat.
