New Year’s Eve: Tommy Lee Plays Last Concert With Mötley Crüe

Of the many great entertainment events happening worldwide on New Year’s Eve, longtime rock fans will be sad to learn that Mötley Crüe will also be playing their final concert on stage tonight.

Tommy Lee and the rest of the band – Nikki Sixx, Vince Neil, and Mick Mars – will be on stage at LA’s gigantic Staple Center. This specific concert marks the end of a 164-day tour that generated about $100 million for the band. Fans were afraid Lee might have had to miss this last concert, as he had to drop out for part of the tour because of an injury.

Mötley Crüe has a huge fan base and a celebrated 34-year long career. It’s clear the end of band’s touring days has been making the group emotional, as Nikki Sixx recently posted on social media:

Everyday I see the guys in the band I feel so grateful WE came, WE saw and WE kicked it’s fucking ass together” and that “I have Motley Crue tattoo on my arm but more importantly it’s tattooed on my heart.”

No one is yet sure what the future is going to hold for Greek-American Tommy Lee or the rest of the band members, but either way, tonight marks the career end of a very influential band.
