Greek-American comedian Jason Mantzoukas will be joining season 3 of FOX’s comedy “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”, starring SNL alum Andy Samberg.
Mantzoukas’ career seems to be on a very rapid upward spiral, as the past few years have seen him in recurring guest star roles in hit shows like “Parks and Recreation”, “Community”, and “Transparent”. His longest role was on the show “The League”.
In “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”, which focuses on a hilariously quirky but overall effective precinct of cops in Brooklyn, Mantzoukas will appear as Adrian Pimento, a police officer who returns to the force after an extremely long undercover stint of more than ten years.
Although the show’s star, Jake (Andy Samberg), is initially excited to work with someone that experienced, Pimento turns out to be a little crazy after so many years leading a double life.
Mantzoukas often takes on very offbeat comedic roles, so we can’t wait to see him as an eccentric cop trying to get back into his real life.
If you want to see Mantzoukas on the big screen, you can catch him in next month’s film premiere of “How To Be Single”.
