Everyone finally found out why Mark Ballas opted out of this season of “Dancing With the Stars”, and it turns out it’s a pretty good reason: the dancer was just cast in the Broadway play “Jersey Boys”!
Ballas will be playing the main character of Frankie Valli in the popular show, which has been running on Broadway for 11 years now.
“Jersey Boys” follows the story of musical group Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, who rose to fame in the 60s and 70s with their unique vocals and pop-rock hybrid sound.
Ballas will make his Broadway debut on October 18th, and will be performing in the show until it shuts down on January 15th of next year.
The dancer had hinted that he had big news coming soon in his apology letter to DWtS fans explaining why he had to miss the upcoming season of the reality show, but almost no one had expected this turn of events. We wish the star the best of luck on the prestigious Broadway stage!
