Hank Azaria’s Apartment Damaged in Fire

A blaze in the Central Park West neighborhood of New York City damaged several luxury apartments, including actor Hank Azaria’s $9.2 million home.

The fire was caused indirectly by renovation in actress Amy Irving’s home, which was located just a few floors below Azaria’s apartment, since 75 Central Park West is known for being a popular celebrity building.

Workers in the apartment left behind some dirty rags that caught fire, causing smoke to seep into almost every corner of the building.

Neighbors ran outside and then assessed the damage to the surrounding apartments. In a fortunate turn of events, no one in the building was hurt, but at least two other apartments were damaged.

Hank Azaria’s apartment sustained $58,000 in damages. A lawsuit has been filed by AIG against the flooring company that was renovating Irving’s apartment, on behalf of the tenants in the building whose apartments were damaged.
