Tina Fey’s career in the TV comedy world continues to ramp up, as in addition to her ongoing highly-rated Netflix comedy “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”, which Fey created and produced, she has now sold her new comedy “The Sackett Sisters” to NBC.
Fey reunited some winning members from her team on “30 Rock” to helm the new show, including fellow executive producer Robert Carlock and writer Luke Del Tredici, who had a prominent writing position behind the scenes on “30 Rock”, and now serves as an executive producer on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”.
“The Sackett Sisters” focuses on two ordinary sisters who perform a heroic public act and then have to find a way to deal with their ensuing fame together, even though they start off the series as estranged.
Knowing Fey’s penchant for funny, quirky shows with interesting and complex female characters, she is one of the best people currently working in Hollywood to pull off such a series.
If you want to catch another one of Fey’s shows as the moment, you can tune in to the upcoming third season of “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”, or hope the pilot for NBC gets approved for a continuing series.
