Michael Angelakos, the frontman and lead singer of Passion Pit, is set to release a Christmas video album and accompanying soundtrack on December 16.

The album, titled “Merry Christmas, Mr. Fields”, is a collaboration between Angelakos, Brent Katz (former member of Harlem Shakes) and director Hana Haley.

The musicians describe the album as a “dreamy World War II” musical that combines influences from throughout the ages, from the music of the ’40s to musical theater and hip hop mixing.

Katz and Angelakos have been planning this musical collaboration for years; Angelakos decided to go back to his roots for the filming of the video, as the album was set in a Buffalo, New York private school that the singer attended when he was young. The entire video album was shot over four days.

Look for the original Christmas album release in stores and online this Friday.
