Amy Sedaris to Host Comedic Homemaking Show on truTV

Comedienne Amy Sedaris, known mostly for her outlandish and hilarious characters, will be hosting a new show on truTV where she will give advice on homemaking.

This might seem like an odd choice at first, but Sedaris and truTV have confirmed that the show will be a scripted comedy series, combining Amy’s whimsical outlook and funny characters with a mash-up format of hospitality and talk shows.

According to truTV’s press release, “the series will showcase Sedaris’ diverse but necessary homemaking skills, from Frenching beans, to gutting a trout, to crocheting miniature sweaters, to entertaining business-men.”

Amy has dispensed such witty and odd advice in writing before, with books like “I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence” and “Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People.”

The network has already bought 10 episodes of the show, and Sedaris herself is excited to start filming the series. According to her, she’s “been doing this show in [her] head for years….It will be terrific to get it on TV so [she] can free up some wiggle room up in [her] skull.”
