Melania Trump was photographed at a White House Congressional picnic on June 23 wearing a design by Greek designer Mary Katrantzou.
This was FLOTUS’ first hosted picnic at the White House; the event is a tradition that takes place every year during the week of the annual summer solstice.
The ivory, A-line dress with colorful accents, which retails for just over $2,000, was a departure from the First Lady’s more usual single-toned outfits.
Mary Katrantzou, the designer behind the outfit, has been rising fast in the fashion world, ever since she established her brand in 2008. Though she was born in Athens, she is currently based in London, and her creations have appeared in fashion shows all over the world, from Los Angeles to London and Paris.
Melania Trump is not the only woman in the public eye to wear one of Katrantzou’s designs; other celebrities that have flaunted her fashion on the red carpet include Elizabeth Banks, Kerry Washington, Jessica Alba, and Sarah Jessica Parker.
