Tina Fey will be one of the many incredible women honored at “Variety” magazine’s “Power of Women: New York” event.
“Variety” honors philanthropic women who use their influence and money to advance causes in which they believe.
Talented actress, writer, and producer Fey will be honored alongside Margaret Atwood, Emily Blunt, Tarana Burke (Founder of the #MeToo movement), and Alicia Keys. Each of these women has a special cause that they aid and promote in their career. For Fey, it’s Reading is Fundamental, the largest non-profit children’s literacy organization in the US.
The Power of Women luncheon will be held at the upscale Ciprian Wall Street restaurant on April 13. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand will give opening remarks and help introduce the influential women honored by “Variety”.
Fey is no stranger to charity and social causes, as she is an outspoken feminist and has previously donated her time and energy to many progressive causes, including hosting a telethon for the ACLU.
It’s fitting that the announcement for the “Power of Women” honorees was made on March 8, International Women’s Day.
