John Stamos will be hosting WE Day California, a youth empowerment event at The Forum that will bring together speakers, performers, March for Our Lives organizers, and Parkland student activists.
Celebrities that will speak and perform that day include Jennifer Aniston, Will Ferrell, Morgan Freeman, Selena Gomez, Martin Sheen, and Paula Abdul.
However, the California event will not be the only one taking place; 19 events will be held across the US, Canada, UK, and the Caribbean. Last year, the events drew a total of 200,000 students from 10,000 schools.
The Parkland school shooting survivors have instigated a giant wave of pro-gun reform marches across the United States, which has turned into the massive March for Our Lives movement. They have been held up as examples of how young people can get involved in society and politics in order to affect change, though some have criticized them for their gun reform agenda.
WE Day is part of a larger program known as WE Schools, which encourages students to undertake social initiatives and develop important skills for life outside of school.
WE Day California will take place on April 19, and will be filmed for a special airing on ABC on August 17.
