Ariel Winter, the Greek-American star of the hit sitcom “Modern Family”, has quit Twitter over the constant bullying and negativity she receives.
Her representative told media outlets that “Ariel has taken a break from Twitter and engaging with commenters on her other platforms because of the constant negativity she experiences. She needs a moment to breathe and enjoy herself without judgment.”
The 20-year-old actress receives a lot of harassment aimed at her body and clothing choices.
She is not the first young celebrity to opt out of social media due to bullying. Other young stars like Millie Bobby Brown, the breakout star of “Stranger Things”, as well as “Star Wars” actress Kelly Marie Tran and Daisy Ridley have deleted one or all of their social media accounts following widespread online harassment.
Winter remains active on Instagram, where she seems to be happy spending time on her work and with boyfriend Levi Meaden.
