The 2018 US Open, one of the biggest events in the world of tennis, just selected Kelly Clarkson to headline its opening ceremony.
This year’s tournament will start on August 27 at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City, where it will be celebrating its 50th anniversary. Superstar athletes from the world of tennis will be coming together to compete for the ultimate title.
USTA Chairman and President Katrina Adams was thrilled with the selection of Clarkson, stating, “we are honored to have such a talented performer join us in this very special year. Kelly Clarkson’s musical versatility, her unparalleled presence and of course her voice, will make this a night to remember.”
So far, 2018 has been a banner year for Clarkson. She continues to be a fan favorite judge on “The Voice”, released her new album “The Meaning of Life”, and has been selected to headline several prominent events including the 2018 Billboard Music Awards.
