Honorary Forest Ranger Betty White Makes Fire Prevention Video

In the midst of one of the worst wildfire seasons in the US, especially in California, honorary forest ranger Betty White was recruited to make a video about fire safety and prevention.

California Fire Prevention agencies made a series of PSA videos with the theme “One Less Spark, One Less Wildfire”, in order to help lessen the rampant amount of wildfires that have hit California this year.

White gives useful information for fire prevention that many people may not know, including how lawnmower blades and vehicle chains can cause sparks that may start wildfires.

“Don’t be responsible for sending our firefighters into danger”, White warns, before being joined by Smokey the Bear in the video.

White’s earnest, funny PSA may have warmth and humor, but it also brings attention to a serious issue that plagues California year after year. Hopefully, people will listen to her advice.

If you want to see more of Betty White soon, the PBS documentary on her life titled “Betty White: First Lady of Television” will premiere on August 21.
