After a four-year absence from the ring in order to pursue his acting career, Dave Bautista will be returning to WWE TV for the 1000th episode of “Smackdown”.
Bautista will be reuniting with some wrestling TV legends, including Triple H, Ric Flair, and Randy Orton.
The Greek-Filipino actor, known as “The Animal” in the WWE ring, is a six-time world champion in wrestling. Lately, he has been making waves on movie screens across the country in action films, as well as in the Marvel franchise as character Drax.
Though some worry the 49-year old may be signaling a departure from acting with this move, Bautista may just be taking advance of a break in his filming schedule after the firing of “Guardians of the Galaxy 3” director James Gunn to make a brief return to wrestling.
However, the actor has also been very outspoken about his dislike of Disney’s decision. As he told “The Ross Report”, “to be honest, I don’t know if I want to work for Disney. I’ve been very vocal about the way I feel. I’m not afraid to admit the way I feel”.
