George Stephanopoulos and Ali Wentworth recently hosted the Child Mind Institute’s Child Advocacy Award Dinner for charity in New York City.
The event was held at 42nd Street’s Cipriani Restaurant on Monday, November 19. Stephanopoulos and other celebrity guests helped raise over $6.8 million for the nonprofit.
Dr. Harold S. Koplewicz, an advisor to the organization, announced that the charitable foundation will open a new research center in Harlem in February of 2019. The charity is also set to open a new clinic in San Francisco at some point next year.
Other guests included Debra Messing of “Will & Grace” fame, Timothy Cardinal Dolan, and Dr. Ruth Westheimer.
The honored guest of the evening was Ashok Varadhan, who was awarded the 2018 Child Advocacy Award for his work.
