After the devastating wildfires that swept through California in the past few weeks, celebrities including Rita Wilson came together recently for a charity concert to raise money for recovery.
Many of the celebrities lived in the affected areas of Malibu and the western LA area. Katy Perry, one of the performers present, said she felt like she was at a neighborhood barbecue with all the attendees.
Organized by singer-songwriter Linda Perry, the event was called “One Love Malibu”. In addition to Katy Perry and Rita Wilson, it featured the talents of singers Gwen Stefani, Alanis Morisette, Rita Ora, and Macy Gray. Demi Moore was one of the several celebrities who addressed the crowd.
Some of the performers had also been personally affected by the fires; Robin Thicke told the audience that his house had been destroyed in the devastating Woolsey Fire.
Both live and silent auctions followed the performances, where hundreds of thousands of dollars were raised for the Malibu Foundation.
