Nia Vardalos will reprise the role of “Sugar” on stage at Pasadena Playhouse, in the play, “Tiny Beautiful Things”.
The play is based on a best-selling book by author Cheryl Strayed, who also wrote “Wild”, which was adapted into a movie starring Reese Witherspoon. Strayed’s book, which inspired the play, is called “Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar”.
Vardalos adapted the play along with Tony-winner Thomas Kail and producer Marshall Heyman.
The story focuses on Sugar, an anonymous editor on a website who responds to the problems of thousands of readers. She gives them advice accompanied with wisdom, optimism, and hope, and ends up sharing her own intriguing life experiences along the way/
The Pasadena Playhouse is one of the most prestigious theatrical venues in the LA area. Performances at the theater starring Vardalos will start on March 8.
