Trailer Released for ‘Wine Country’, Starring Tina Fey and Amy Poehler

The former SNL power duo of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are back, and can be seen in the recently released trailer for the new movie “Wine Country.”

Wine Country is a Netflix production, and in addition to Fey and Poehler, it features several former SNL funny ladies. The cast includes Ana Gasteyer, Maya Rudolph, and a slew of other female comediennes who all go on a trip to Napa to celebrate their friend Rebecca’s (Rachel Dratch) birthday.

The female-led weekend getaway film marks Amy Poehler’s directorial debut. Since SNL, Poehler has enjoyed a wonderful TV career, with seven years as the lead actress and producer on the critically-acclaimed “Parks and Recreation.” She also has a lead role in the new “Wet Hot American Summer” television show.

Fey and Poehler have often teamed up in the past, and are close friends in real life. They hosted the Golden Globes on three separate occasions and were considered some of the best hosts the Globes have ever had. They also opened the “hostless” 2019 Oscars ceremony.

In addition to acting, Fey has had a successful run behind the camera as the executive producer/creator of “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” and “Great News”, both on Netflix.

“Wine Country” takes a funny, heartwarming look at female friendships, and especially the lives and concerns of women over 40, a group which is often underrepresented in film and television.
