Nia Vardalos Receives Rave Reviews for “Tiny Beautiful Things”

“Tiny Beautiful Things”, the play Nia Vardalos helped create and is currently starring in at the Pasadena Playhouse, has opened to rave reviews.

The play is based on Cheryl Strayed’s “Dear Sugar” advice column. Strayed is also the woman behind the book “Wild,” on which the Reese Witherspoon movie of the same name was based.

In the story, Vardalos’ character goes on a personal journey while helping others with their problems. Through listening and giving advice, on funny, touching, and sometimes tragic issues, she manages to find her own way.

One reviewer from Liberty Voice states, “‘Tiny Beautiful Things’ would not be as effective in less capable hands, but the actors here are first-rate. Vardalos is empathetic, vulnerable and determined.”

The play had previously debuted off-Broadway in 2016, with Vardalos portraying the main role there as well, and will also be playing soon in Chicago.

“Tiny Beautiful Things” premiered on April 10 and will run through May 5 at the Pasadena Playhouse. If you are in the Los Angeles area, go see it if you can possibly can.
