Greek-Filipino wrestler-turned-actor Dave Bautista is set to star in a new crime thriller from the creator of “The Fast and the Furious” franchise, called “Traphouse”.
Bautista helped to develop the film’s concept and is also attached to the film as a producer.
“Traphouse” follows two DEA agents who are chasing a surprisingly elusive group of thieves, and then find the case gets more complicated as the ring of robbers turns out to involve their teenage children.
The film is written by Gary Scott Thompson, who was also the writer behind the first two “Fast and the Furious” films. He also created the TV show “Las Vegas”.
Though the rest of the cast has yet to be hired, the film may end up being a combination of action and comedic elements. After all, Bautista’s latest efforts, including the film “Stuber” with Kumail Nanjiani, have successfully combined action and comedy.
Bautista seems to be exceptionally busy these days, as he has also been cast in the “Dune” reboot as well as “Army of the Dead”, in addition to plenty of other films.
The possible release date of “Traphouse” is still unknown.
