The actors’ union, SAG-AFTRA, honored Gabrielle Carteris with a George Heller Memorial Award gold card for her years of service as President of the union.

Carteris, the Greek-American actress best known for her role in the original series “90210”, was re-elected as SAG-AFTRA President in August.

These honors are presented every two years at the union’s convention, which took place at the Beverly Hilton this year. Carteris was given the award on Saturday, October 12, the third day of the four-day conference.

Other award recipients of the evening were Executive Vice President Rebecca Damon and Chief Operating Officer Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, who work alongside Carteris. Damon played a huge role in merging the two main actors’ unions, SAG and AFTRA, into one large organization in 2012.

These three women have played a major role in securing actors’ rights, fair pay, and safe working conditions through the union, and deserve to be recognized for their efforts. Carteris can be seen on TV these days in the “Beverly Hills 90210” reboot.
