Greek-American Nasty Gal founder Sophia Amoruso announced that she sold off her female-focused multimedia brand to Attention Capital. Amoruso will join Attention Capital as a founding partner.

The fashion designer and entrepreneur built a huge movement through her business, book, and “Girboss” Netflix series based on empowering women to take charge, set up and run their own businesses. However, the brand has been struggling in recent year.

In a Tweet, Amoruso seemed happy about the deal, calling Attention Capital “a holding startup that wants to fix media”.

Investors in the company, including Nicole Quinn, also seem happy the this business move. Quinn had nothing but high praise for Amoruso after the sale announcement on social media.

She tweeted, “Sophia and team have done a tremendous job of using content to drive a community with similar beliefs, values, wants and needs. It was not the digital product alone that achieved this but rather Sophia Amoruso’s vision of bringing on and offline worlds together”.
