Greek designer Mary Katrantzou can add another star name to her list of clients, as pop superstar Lizzo just hit the NAACP red carpet wearing one of the designer’s dresses.
The NAACP Image Awards, held on February 22, honored Lizzo with their prestigious “Entertainer of the Year” award.
The 31-year-old singer strolled down the carpet in front of paparazzi in one of Katrantzou’s iconic geometric designs. The dress was clearly custom made for Lizzo, as it had her name printed in glitter text worked into the geometric pattern.
Katrantzou was clearly overjoyed that Lizzo picked one of her designs for the high profile event. The designer uploaded a photo of Lizzo on her Instagram and captioned it, “Queen @lizzobeeating attends the @naacpimageawards tonight wearing custom #marykatrantzou Styling by @brettalannelson Thank you for trusting me.”
Lizzo is clearly a fan of London-based designer Katrantzou, as she has also worn one of the designer’s dresses for a TIME Magazine photo shoot, after the magazine named Lizzo “Entertainer of the Year”.
This shows that Katrantzou’s long list of celebrity clients, which have included Cate Blanchett and Melania Trump, is only poised to keep growing.
