Greek-American entertainer and illusionist Criss Angel has donated $250,000 worth of food to families in need in the Las Vegas area.

The Vegas headliner, known for his “MINDFREAK” show, along with a group of volunteers, handed out boxes of food in a parking lot to families at Cure4TheKids. The nonprofit helps children fighting cancer along with their families.

Angel, whose given name is Christopher Nicholas Sarantakos, holds this cause near and dear to his heart. His own six-year-old son Johnny Crisstopher, has faced an ongoing battle with leukemia since he was a baby.

During the food giveaway, Angel stated, “it’s all about love today”. He knows how hard it is for families in difficult financial situations to make the decision between putting food on the table or keeping a roof over their head, so he wanted to do his part to help.

The food donated will be enough to feed over 100 families well for six to eight weeks.

In addition to the food donations, Angel is also giving away 1,000 tickets to his MINDFREAK show, as a way to entertain families and children and help them forget about their worries, just for one night.

Another food donation event will take place in around three weeks to help Las Vegas area families via the Cure4TheKids program. You can see the interview with Criss Angel via KSNV below.
