Kelly Clarkson will be stepping in to guest judge on “America’s Got Talent” as Simon Cowell recuperates from back surgery following a bike accident.
The reality show, hosted by Terry Crews, has a star-studded panel of judges which includes Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, and Howie Mandel in addition to Cowell.
When Greek-American Clarkson won the very first season of “American Idol”, it was in fact Cowell himself who was in the judge’s chair for that entire season and helped vote Kelly to the top. Clarkson’s stellar singing career was jump started from that show, so it’s somewhat fitting that she should be stepping in to help out Cowell and NBC now.
In addition, Clarkson has proven herself very popular with competition show audiences, as she was a beloved judge on “The Voice” as well.
“America’s Got Talent” is the #1 show of the summer on the big four networks. Clarkson will be a guest on the live telecasts taking place on Tuesday, August 11, and Wednesday, August 12. Tune in to see her!
