2014 Grammy Nomination for Greek Violonist Leonidas Kavakos

The internationally renowned Greek violinist Leonidas Kavakos, has been nominated for a Grammy Award for best chamber music small ensemble performance. The ceremony will be held on January 26th at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.

Kavakos made his debut with the complete Beethoven Violin Sonatas under the label Decca. He recently released his first concerto recording with the same label entitled: Brahms’s Violin Concerto, with the historical Gewandhaus orchestra under Riccardo Chailly. Meanwhile, it was officially confirmed that Riccardo Chailly will replace Daniel Barenboim as music director of La Scala in Milan, in 2015.

The top violinist, conductor and musician, Leonidas Kavakos, has a great deal of experience under his belt and has an international discography which includes collaborations with major orchestras, conductors and great performers in prestigious global music halls. His repertoire is constantly expanding, and not limited to a certain time period or type of music.

Since 2006, Kavakos has been collaborating with internationally renowned Italian pianist, Enrico Pace, who has collaborated with famous orchestras, soloists and ensembles accumulating a diverse discography. Pace has given concerts in the most prestigious concert halls around the world.
